REI Industry Takes Part in the Reuse Packaging Technical Conference in Dijon

On 22 October 2026, REI Industry took part in the Packaging Reuse Technical Conference, organised in Dijon by Package In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The event brought together numerous industry professionals to review current reuse practices and explore future developments.

A day exploring the different aspects of reuse

Regulations, eco-design, business models for bulk goods and cardboard packaging, logistics… The presentations covered the many challenges associated with packaging reuse, drawing on practical examples from various industries.

The programme also included a session dedicated to the reuse of packaging and packaging equipment. As part of this session, Lucile Flechon, our Reuse Business Development Manager, spoke alongside Arnaud Moulin from Bluemarket, a REI Industry partner.

Giving industrial equipment a second life

Using a production line as an example, the presentation highlighted the potential for reusing electronic and industrial automation equipment.

PLCs, variable frequency drives, electronic circuit boards, human-machine interfaces (HMIs)… These components can be recovered, assessed and put back into service when they are still fully functional.

This approach opens up new opportunities for industrial reuse and helps drive the adoption of more sustainable practices.
